I work in layers over an abstract colorful background, gradually teasing out my favorite subject matter: the effects of sunlight on boats, people and water at a given moment in time. I try to keep most of the painting very loose and use an airbrush to soften various areas and to create transparencies. The intent is for the expressive abstract underpainting to show through the final representational painting.
